3-Pitch Softball

Dust off that old dirt covered glove and get ready for some 3-Pitch Softball! With minor differences from traditional softball, 3-Pitch allows you to put one right in the hitters wheelhouse since you pitch to your own batters in this event. Be carful swinging for the fences every pitch though because you only get three chances to put the ball in play. Should you try to sneak a single by the defense or try to clear the bases with a moonshot? Either approach is sure to bring excitement to every at bat this season. The crack of the bat will be loud for 3-Pitch Softball!

4-on-4 Flag Football

4-on-4 Flag Football offers a fun and fast paced way to play competitive football and stay in shape. The sport of football that most people are accustomed to is tackle football, where the ball carrier is tackled to the ground by the defense. In Flag Football, each player wears a flag belt around his/her waist which, when pulled off, is considered as a "tackle". This non-contact version of football creates a safer playing environment for everyone who wishes to play.

4-on-4 Indoor Soccer

The most significant difference in play between outdoor soccer and indoor soccer is that the indoor field is surrounded by a wall instead of touch lines, resembling more of a hockey rink than a soccer pitch. The ball can be played directly off the wall, which eliminates many frequent stoppages that would normally result for throw-ins, goal-kicks and corner-kicks, and generally results in a faster paced game. The game is played with a Futsal ball rather than a regular soccer ball. There is no better time to play than right now, so sign up today for Intramural 4-on-4 Indoor Soccer Tournment as space is limited!

Basketball

Basketball is a 5-on-5 game with 2 referees and two 20 minutes halves. The object of the game is to get the basketball inside your opponents goal as a team. The team without the ball is the one on defense and is to prevent the other team from scoring while the one with the ball (which is called offense), is trying to break its opponents defensive strategies and score. At the end of the game, the team with the most points wins! With the various types of leagues offered, you can find the right team to fit your playing level.

Outdoor Soccer

In numbers of participants and spectators, soccer is the world's most popular sport in part because of its simple rules and essential equipment. Players, with the exception of the goalie, work to move the ball down the field to the opponent's goal by passing, dribbling and shooting. The goalie's job is to keep the ball from entering the goal. Only goalies are allowed to touch the ball with their hands or arms during general play. Ball control and teamwork make this sport one of the most logistical events in the Intramural Sports Program.

Ultimate

Combining the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football, a game of Ultimate is played by two teams with a flying disc on a field with end zones, similar to football. Although it resembles many traditional sports in its athletics requirements, it is unlike most sports due to its focus on self-officiating. The object of the game is to score by catching a pass in the opponent's end zone. A player must stop running while in possession of the disc, but may pivot and pass to any of the other receivers on the field.

The general concepts of Wallyball are very similar to indoor volleyball.
