Fitness Assessments

What is a Fitness Assessment?

KU Recreation Services offers a fitness assessment program (Fit4U) that includes an assessment of your resting heart rate, blood pressure, body fat percentage, body mass index (BMI), and waist to hip ratio.  Additional tests to assess flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength or endurance can be performed depending on the participant's health and fitness goals and should be discussed when the Personal Trainer contacts the participant to schedule the assessment.  The Personal Trainer will review your results with you and assist you in determining an appropriate fitness plan to work towards your fitness goals.

It is recommended to have a follow-up assessment every 3-6 months to check the participant's progress.

*The first session of any Personal Training Package will include a Fit4U Fitness Assessment if the client so chooses.

How to sign-up

To sign-up for a Fit4U Fitness Assessment, fill out a Fit4U Health History form (PDF) and stop by the administrative office at the Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center.

All participants must complete and return a registration pack prior to the scheduled session.

Payments MUST be made in advance of assessment. Receipt of payment must be taken to scheduled assessment; without a receipt, the assessment will not be conducted.

The cost for the initial assessment with fitness tests and exercise consultation:

  • Fee: $15

The cost for follow-up measurements (3-6 months following the initial assessment):

  • Fee: $10
