Mario Thomas

Mario joined Recreation Services in May 2025 as the Assistant Director of Operations. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Performance from Emporia State University.  Before joining the University of Kansas, he was the Manager of a Community Recreation Center in Johnson County Kansas and has been a high school basketball official for over 10 years.  Mario enjoys coaching youth sports, cheering on his favorite teams (Jayhawks, Chiefs, and Royals), and being active with family.
