A facility assistant can work in one or more of the three responsibility areas within the ASRFC during a given shift. In each area, an assistant shall enforce and implement policies and procedures or complete particular responsibilities so that the University population has the opportunity to participate in desired recreational programs, facilities, and services. Assistants are expected to work during the following periods: Fall and Spring Semester; and fall, winter, and spring breaks. The Summer Semester is optional and is covered by those who are available to work. They will also work Monday-Sunday with early morning hours (5:15am), morning, afternoon, evening, and late night hours (closing at midnight). Assistants are expected to work weekend hours on a regular basis. Each assistant must be certified in CPR/AED or become certified within one month after being appointed. of appointment. The three responsibility areas an assistant can work are: Welcome Center; Equipment Check-Out; Gym Monitor.
(ASRFC, Shenk Field Complex, Robinson Center, and Special Events)
A Facility Supervisor is responsible for on-site supervision and administration of all Recreation Services facilities. Supervision will include multiple activities that can occur simultaneously. A Facility Supervisor works in collaboration with Facility Assistants, Facility Program(s), Associate Director-Facilities, Assistant Director-Facilities, and all other program director within KU Recreation Services. Their Director Supervisor is the Associate Director of Facilities. A Facility Supervisor assists in providing the University population with a safe, efficient, and enjoyable recreational facilities during their hours.
(ASRFC, Shenk Field Complex & Adams Campus)
Maintenance & cleaning of various facilities housed within KU Recreation Services (Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center, Shenk Field Complex, Adams Campus and Stewart Ave. Property). In addition, duties will include maintenance and set-up of various pieces of sport equipment. Must have a current/valid driver's license. Assistants are expected to work during the following periods: Fall& clean for our participants.
The Scheduling and Special Events Program Manager (SSEPM) position is responsible for creating and maintaining the Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center semester schedules. This position is directly in charge of scheduling all rooms and facilities that are under the umbrella of Recreation Services. This position will also be responsible of all special events hosted at all facilities of Recreation Services. The SSEPM is responsible for providing on-site assistance for special events sponsored by KU Recreation Services at the KU Student Recreation Fitness Center, Robinson Center, Shenk Outdoor Complex and/or other designated location. This position requires flexible working hours that will include mornings, evenings and possible weekends. Strong customer service and promoting a positive image for KU Recreation Services is expected. SSEPM must be able to work independently and to take initiative. Moreover, the ability to work with participants of diverse backgrounds is essential. The program manager will be the point of contact for all potential special events. They will be responsible for the scheduling, programming, running, operations, and billing for all special events hosted by KU Recreation Services. The Scheduling and Special Events Program Manager reports directly to the Sport Club and Special Events Coordinator and will be required to maintain active communication with them. Special Event Monitors report directly to the Assistant Director-Facilities/Membership Services and/or the Associate Director-Sport Programs. All Special Event Monitors are expected to maintain current CPR/AED certification.
