Fencing is a combat discipline that originated in the 14th century as a form of military training, it later developed into a combat sport in the 18th century when the Italian schools of fencing created a sport for practice. The sport was later improved upon by the French in the 19th century where it was held at the very first Olympics!
At the KU Fencing Club we study the different techniques from France, Italy, Germany, and Spain in an Olympic format. New to the sport? That's alright! We teach new members everything they need to know! Already a pro? Come face off in competition! Our goal is to all learn from each other and grow as fencers, all while getting some great exercise in!
