After several years of the Robinson Pools only being available to a limited number of people, they have officially been refurbished and are now open to the KU population! Hours for Open Rec Lap Swim can be found below. Any additional questions can be directed to the contact information on this page.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the West pool will be closed for lap swim for the remainder of the Spring semester. All open lap swim will be conducted out of the East Pool only. Entrance to the pool will remain via the West Pool entrance and staff on deck will direct you to the other pool to swim.

Frequently Asked Questions
We have two pools located in the Robinson Center (a short walk to the North West of the KU Recreation Center and next door to the Cap Fed Building). Pools are shared between KU Recreation Services, HSES, Athletics, and ROTC. The West Pool consists of 8 lap lanes and the East Pool (Competition Pool) consists of 6 laps lanes and a diving well.
For the time being, access to the pools will be limited to KU Affiliates only. KU Faculty/Staff and Fee-Paying KU Students will have automatic access.
KU Retirees, Spouses/Domestic Partners of Faculty/Staff, and similarly categorized individuals will need to have a current KU Recreation Services membership.
All users will be asked to "swipe in" using either their KU ID card or by entering their KU ID number or phone number upon entrance to confirm eligibility.
If you are unsure of your affiliation status, please reach out and we can confirm eligibility for you.
Faculty/Staff members have been granted automatic/free access to the Robinson Pools, however, this does NOT grant access to the Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center. Faculty/Staff are required to purchase a membership should they wish to utilize the Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center.
We are set to open for lap swim on Wednesday, October 16th!
Unfortunately, we will not be allowing use of the diving well. The Open Rec Swim hours will be for lap swim ONLY.
Unfortunately we will not be allowing children to participate in our open rec swim times. These times will be restricted to adults with the appropriate access permissions as listed above.
Locker rentals are handled through the Robinson Center directly. You will need to contact Teresa Aldrich (taldrich@ku.edu) to inquire about availability. Please be aware that lockers will only be available to eligible Faculty and Staff members. Lockers will not be rented to students.
