Ray Harris

Ray Harris began working for KU Recreation Services in August of 2026 as the Assistant Director of Outdoor Pursuits. Ray is a veteran of the North Carolina National Guard where he served as a Combat Medic. 

Ray was born and raised in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina where he graduated high school and then proceeded to attend East Carolina University to earn his B.S in Recreation and Park Management with a Minor in Psychology (2024). He continued his education at ECU attaining his M.S in Recreation Sciences (2026) while completing his thesis: “Effects of Adaptive Outdoor Recreation on Sense of Community”.
