Aja McCormick-Barros

Aja joined Recreation Services in August 2023 as the Assistant Director of Sport Clubs. Born and raised in Long Island, NY, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, and Master's Degree in Sport Management with a focus in College Athletics from Adelphi University. Before coming to the University of Kansas, she worked as Assistant Athletic Director and Sports Information Director at Haskell Indian Nations University. Aja has an extensive background in various areas of athletics, including a club officer position within the Equestrian and Women's Soccer club at Adelphi University.

"The ability to work with college and sport club athletes has shown the importance of maintaining the enjoyment and fulfillment that sports bring to current and former athletes in various realms of the sports industry; including myself. Athletics has provided inspiration through education personally and my goal is to do the same for current athletes of any collegiate realm."
